The publication provides the view on the types of the primary drug used, the methods of drug administration, length of primary drug usage and the types of secondary drugs used. There are separately presented selected data for persons treated in prison. The trend lines of the monitored indicators constitute the part of this publication. It is supplemented with indicators according to the methodology of EMCDDA – European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, where the type of curative facility, reason for treatment demand, frequency of substance uptake and other data are also monitored.

The publication provides an information on activities of healthcare facilities in the specialised units of psychiatry, gerontopsychiatry, paediatric psychiatry and medicine of drug addiction. The publication consists of two parts; the first offers an outline of examined patients in psychiatric units by diagnose, gender and age groups, and the number of patients with psychiatric diagnose first time. The second part presents data on hospitalised patients in institutional psychiatric facilities. Diagnose as a cause of hospitalisation, age, gender, social status (education, family and occupational status), as well as deaths of hospitalised patients and follow-up mental care after discharge/transfer is monitored.

Incidence of congenital disorders in the population is the most monitored indicators of population health status. The incidence of CD reflects several important factors such as genetic load of the population, environmental changes, as well as the level of health care. Information includes data on persons who started treatment in the processing period, from 1. 1. to 31. 12. For comparison, in the first part of the publication you can find longer time series of development of reported drug addicted patients processed according to main groups of drug, gender, age group, territory of permanent address. Using of psychoactive substances has been monitored within the statistical finding since 2006. Presented data provides a picture of the primary drug use and views on treated drug users according to their level of completed education and their economic activities.

This comprehensive and representative publication contains relevant statistical information and presents cross-sectional view of changes and projections in terms of demographic population of the Slovak Republic, review and trend of bed fund following statistics of hospitalization in institutional health care facilities for professional and general public. Content of the publication followed the publication containing data on hospitalization, institutional facilities and which was published by National Health Information Center for many years. This updated and enlarged edition contains several sources of statistical information in tabular sections and accompanying text. Publication is supplemented by presenting time trends graphs of monitored indicators.


Occupational Diseases or Threats from Occupational Disease in the SR 2011

The publication processes statistical data, which point to dynamics of evolution in number of reported occupational diseases during the last 12 years. Report on Occupational Disease or Threat from Occupational Disease is provided by the outpatient unit of Clinic for occupational medicine and clinical toxicology, department (clinic) for occupational medicine and clinical toxicology, which admitted the occupational disease and threat from occupational disease. Since 1.1.2011 a change was applied in method for filling the item in report „Occupation of the affected“. The occupation is determined by international classification standard – ISCO 08. The publication presents statistical outputs (tables, charts) are amended with analysis of occurrence of occupational diseases and professional poisonings based on statistical background in SR in 2011, which was provided by Doc. MUDr. Ľubomír Legáth, PhD., Main Expert of MoH SR in domain of Clinical occupational medicine.

Statistics of Inpatients in the SR 2009

The publication presents basic statistical data about number of hospitalizations in bed health facilities in the Slovak republic. We present number of hospitalized patients, number of deaths, length of stay from full file of hospitalized patients. There are surveys according to causes of hospitalization or by wards available. The survey is appended with statistics of bed fund of health facilities and basic demographic data, number of inhabitants and number of deaths according to causes of death with major share on total mortality in the Slovak Republic. Background for processing of statistical data is the Report on hospitalization, the Annual report on Bed Fund of Health Facility and demographic data of the Statistical office of the Slovak Republic.


Substance Dependence – Drug User Treatment in the SR 2009
