Brief description of the project: Establishment and operation of the National Contact Point for eHealth of the Slovak Republic in order to ensure cross-border access to health data, their electronic processing and transmission in order to ensure continuity of healthcare.

The primary use of the data shall include:

a. Patient summaries;
b. ePrescription

The EHDS will give citizens more control over their health data, immediate and free access to their health data in electronic form, the possibility to share their data with health professionals, add information who has accessed their data and request correction if some data is incorrect. Data will be presented in a common European format, making it usable and accepted across the EU.

Example:

In the event of an accident or illness in another Member State, a doctor or hospital will be able to obtain electronic medical records from the patient's doctor, and the doctor will be able to receive a report of discharge from the hospital. Slovak citizens will be able to choose ePrescription prescribed in Slovakia anywhere in the EU and at the same time EU citizens will be allowed to pick up medicines based on the ePrescription in Slovakia.

Healthcare professionals will have access to data across the EU as part of the MyHealth@EU infrastructure, unless the patient restricts it.
